(Akron, OH) – Bechler Enterprises, LLC, a national leader in athletic department consulting and leadership development, has announced that Dan Christensen will become its new Director of Collegiate Consulting.
The company was founded in 2017 by Jamy Bechler. He is former college basketball coach and athletic administrator. Bechler has authored nine books, hosts the “Success is a Choice” podcast, and developed The Leadership Playbook online program.
The aim of Bechler Enterprises, LLC is to help develop positive leaders, stronger cultures, and build better teams. They primarily work within the education and athletics industry.
Christensen brings more than a decade of experience working directly with college coaches, administrators, and athletic departments across the country.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Dan to the team,” said Bechler. “I’ve seen both his work ethic and results through the years. He has a sharp mind and has a strong grasp of college athletics.”
In this role, Christensen will lead collegiate search operations, supporting institutions as they seek to hire high-quality coaches and staff. His work will focus on serving busy athletic directors, college executives, and search committees by managing applicants, evaluating candidates, and leveraging a diverse network helping schools find the right fit for their programs.
“We help athletic departments and teams in the area of culture, teamwork, and leadership but that task is made so much easier if the right coach is hired in the first place,” said Bechler. “Having the right staff member makes all the difference when it comes to developing, influencing, and mentoring student-athletes. Dan’s background and skill set are going to be invaluable in this process.”
Christensen has built his career around helping coaches and programs grow. He spent six years with Tudor Collegiate Strategies, where he worked with hundreds of college programs to improve their recruiting strategy, communication, and organizational systems. Prior to that, he served in multiple coaching and administrative roles at Gordon College, including assistant coach for both tennis programs and the men’s basketball program. He is also a former Gordon College tennis student-athlete.
Known for his organized, reliable approach, Christensen has experience working with institutions of all sizes and understands the unique needs of each athletic department.
“I am excited to contribute to the great work that Jamy has been doing for years in supporting colleges and athletic departments and the important work those schools are doing in the lives of young men and women in their programs,” Christensen said.
Christensen believes strongly in the mission of college athletics. “Athletics plays a powerful role in developing student-athletes into future leaders,” he said. “My goal is to support the people who lead these programs by saving them time, helping them make great hires, and ultimately allowing them to focus on what is most important, serving their student-athletes well.”
A Massachusetts native, Christensen lives with his wife and two young children.
