Jamy Bechler is a professional speaker, leadership trainer and executive business coach who works with teams ranging from major corporations to the NBA. Before going into full-time leadership work, Jamy served for 20 years as a college basketball coach, professor and administrator. When he hung up the whistle, he didn’t stop coaching. Jamy just moved from the locker-room into the boardroom. He now travels the country motivating people and “coaching” organizations on how they can build championship teams and cultures.
Jamy left his last college as the winningest coach in program history. His 2014 team earned the national “Champions of Character” award. He then moved to the high school ranks to serve as an athletic director for two years. During his time there, the basketball team won the state championship, he transformed the department’s athletic budget and instituted student-athlete leadership training. As a student-athlete, he lettered in three different sports (football, basketball and track) while attending college.
“As a long-time college basketball coach, I love working together with others to build stronger teams, create a championship culture and achieve a higher level of success. Our potential for success is unlimited. There is no better feeling than coming alongside someone and helping them grow and become the person that they’ve always wanted to be.”
Jamy’s passion for leadership and adding value to others led him to go through extensive training to be a John Maxwell certified leadership coach, teacher and speaker. John Maxwell has written more than 100 books and is considered the #1 leadership expert in the world. Jamy was taught by Maxwell and his teaching faculty and is authorized to teach Maxwell leadership principles. “My desire is to add value to people. I want to see people reach their true potential and achieve their goals. Success is a choice and I love seeing individuals choose to develop and utilize their talents. It is also satisfying to see a business make the choice to grow and maximize their results. It is so satisfying to see individuals choose to develop and utilize their talents.”
