Motivational Minute: Good Enough

“The beautiful thing about today is that you get the choice to make it better than yesterday.” (Robin Sharma)
🔊  Please click here to listen to the 1-minute audio version of this article from the Success is a Choice podcast network.

Good enough is sometimes not good enough.

Today, we should be aware of times when we accept mediocrity . . . when we accept less than our best.

Sometimes we take the easy way out.

Sure, we can’t be perfect but too often, we settle instead of excelling.

Just think, if 99.9% were good enough, then in the next year alone, 5,000 babies would be given to the wrong parents, nearly 3 million books would be shipped with the wrong cover, nearly 6 million cases of soda would be flatter than a bad tire, 300 pacemaker operations would be incorrectly performed, and 20,000 incorrect drug prescriptions would be written.

Obviously, we can’t be perfect and some of those facts and figures might be more important than others, but it’s still good to remember not to be satisfied.

Achieving our potential is always a good goal. Doing our best is not something to be disappointed in unless we rest on our laurels.

If our best from last year is still our best then we have failed to improve, grow, or develop. We need to do our best today. Find ways to grow today.

And then, tomorrow we must be careful not to be satisfied with what we did today.

One last thing . . . even though I said earlier that sometimes being 99% is not good enough? Well, I’m willing to accept a 99% rate of you fine people leaving a nice little ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review on Apple podcasts about our content. It means the world to me and helps others find our content.

Even if you don’t listen to podcasts, the emails I send you each week are turned into podcast episodes. If you like the email insights then you like our podcast episodes. Thank you so much for taking 60-90 seconds to click here and leave a quick review for our “Success is a Choice” podcast (and insights).

Remember that success is a choice. What choice will we make today?
