This past week we celebrated the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and remembered the great things he did to make the world a little bit better.
I saw a lot of memes and quotes about him on Monday.
But do we just promote these thoughts on the third Monday of every January or will we live them out on a daily basis?
The time is always right to do what is right, not just right on one day out of 365.
We can’t try to understand others and be a molder of consensus just one day during the year.
We can’t post Martin Luther King quotes one day and then on the other 364 days of the year be spewing forth hatred.
Dr. King said that he decided to stick with love because hate was too great a burden to bear. Hate is not the answer. Light is the only thing that can drive out darkness.
Regardless of our skin color, age, religion, political affiliation, gender, or background, the content of our character speaks loudly when we complain, speak ill of others, or stir dissension.
It’s always the right time to do what is right.
