As a middle schooler, my mother wouldnāt let me play tackle football. I figured Iād be able to talk her out of it prior to entering high school.

I remember the first and only time I stormed the basketball court as a fan.
It was my 8th-grade year and I just watched the high school team win the District championship.
Lots of teams hoist a trophy during March Madness but not every team wins it on the opponentās home court. Fewer still win in a dramatic fashion with a comeback for the ages.
My small Michigan high school had a great deal of success on both the gridiron and the hard courts.
Jonesville High School had some really good athletes that played both sports but we also had two great head coaches ā¦ Bill Dunn in basketball and Greg Morrison in football.
Because my mother wouldnāt allow me to play football … why mom why?!?š … I was one of the few players on my high school basketball team that didnāt also play football.
